Who we are, what we do?
We are the Open Seminars on Philosophy and Psychiatry Foundation. Our organization was officially registered in the middle of the 2018, but as an informal group operated since April 2015, when the first conference from the Open Seminars on Philosophy and Psychiatry series was arranged. Since that time we hosted seven conferences and organized many discussion meetings, lectures, panels and workshops in Warsaw and Lublin.
Our next conference is the VIII Open Seminar on Philosophy and Psychiatry ‘HOSPITAL’, which will take place in the hall of the University of Warsaw Library, May 11-12, 2019 (read more on VIII OSF-P >>).
Our main aim is to integrate the research community in the humanities / social sciences, psychiatrists, therapist, people with mental issues experiences and all citizens in order to make a change in social awareness toward more open, reflexive and inclusive direction. We are convinced that the mental health problems concern all of us and are not just private, but social and global issues, and can not be solved without ethical and philosophical reflexion.
Among others, we are the partner of The Collaborating Centre for Values-based Practice and Mental Health Congress (read more on Congress >>) that strive for implementation of the National Mental Health Protection Programme (NPOZP), and regular partner of PsychoCinema series (Lublin, 2015-). Also we have honor to host International Network for Philosophy and Psychiatry 21th Annual Conference: Experts in Mental Health), which will take place in Warsaw, Poland, October 22-24, 2019 (read more on INPP 2019 >>).
